Physical symptoms are typically viewed through a biomedical lens.

When pain, fatigue, muscle tension, or gastrointestinal discomfort develops, the natural assumption is that an underlying structural or physiological abnormality must be responsible.

While this is frequently true, it doesn’t explain why many patients continue to experience persistent symptoms despite normal investigations, successful treatment of tissue injury, or the absence of identifiable pathology.
