‘I suffered a back injury in 1998 and continued to suffer pain from it until 2005 when I read Dr. Sarno’s book. That’s all it took. In fact, I don’t think I read more than half the book and my pain was gone.
‘When I say pain I mean there were days when I couldn’t get out of bed or drive a car. The book stopped all of that and it took years before I felt any kind of pain again.
‘Why? Because Dr. Sarno says back pain is really a subconscious defense mechanism against stress. Once you consciously understand where the stress comes from, the pain goes away.’
